Mesa, AZ, USA – October 3, 2012 – CulinaryHallofFame.com announced today that The Reluctant Gourmet is now the thirteenth Inductee into the Culinary Hall of Fame on their website. Visitors to the site and fans of The The Reluctant Gourmet have voted a total of 2000 points, the required amount to be inducted. Their plaque will hold a permanent place on the Culinary Hall of Fame Inductee Page and will be linked to their site.

Inductees listed on the Culinary Hall of Fame Inductee Page are also granted access to the exclusive Inductee Lounge, a Forum area not visible to the general public, where a group of highly skilled internet and real world culinarians can interact in fundraising activities, charity events, have the option to serve on the Chefs4Students.org review panel for culinary grant requests, participate in joint campaigns, promotions and more. Congratulations to Share Our Strength, the first culinary organization of it’s kind to be inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame.

So why is he called the Reluctant Gourmet? The definition of "gourmet" is a connoisseur of fine food and wine. While the Reluctant Gourmet enjoys these things, he also is interested in basic cooking techniques and putting tasty, healthy meals on the table for his family. So, while he enjoys gourmet food on occasion, he is reluctant to call himself a full time gourmet. He also can be a bit reluctant to try new recipes and methods. As we all know, it's pretty easy to get into a cooking rut and stay there, making the same few meals over and over again. Stick with RG, though. He has found some ways to overcome his reluctance to try new things and is eager to share them with his readers.

The Reluctant Gourmet truly is relatable. We can relate to him because he has been where we are: trying to figure out what's for dinner, trying to decipher arcane cooking terminology and methods, just trying to put something tasty and healthy on the table for his family, and trying to get over his own reluctance in the kitchen to encourage us all to do the same.

Not only has the Reluctant Gourmet put in the time to learn to cook for himself and his family, but he has also built a huge cooking website so that we can all learn from him and with him.
